They're called artifacts.
They happen when you use JPG format and don't set the quality high. If you look around the guys hair where there is white behind their head, you can see them too.

I don't believe this picture to be anything more than a very well blended photo composite. I have experience with doing digital photo composites, as well as airbrushing, and unless I actually see this being done in airbrush, in person, then I am going to call this a photo composite. The step by step pictures seem to simply be a smoke screen to deceive you.
And that's why Dru Blair is famous and not you. How about visiting his website and his magazine articles and his accomplishments before using your "experience" to sell him short.

Look at her lips or forehead. This is not drawn, this is a picture, NO ONE can come to such a level of details as you got here on the forehead and lips, NO ONE. Really lame.
