I spent there over 6 months, in Osaka...and I am sure I will come back there and spend there some years. Japan is the best country I've ever been. People are so nice there, no violence, and everything is so easy to create (pub, company, restaurant, shop...etc). The main problem is, that they have problems with holidays.
Anyway...if you want to go somewhere and see something different - choose Japan. You will not regret.
