Maybe they're trying to recover from some trauma, cause he's also scared shitless in monkey cage, which is weird. It's a predator after all, shouldn't be that wussy.

im an avid viewer of this Korean show, which is called "Animal Farm". A group of baby bears were found motherless in the woods and were taken care of and treated. However this particular bear was too fearful of practically everything so was put under special treatment. The purpose of this training was to get that particularly scared bear to not fear the lions as that bear has to go back to the wild. prior to this, the bear was put along side monkeys and eventually passed. that bear has been undergoing treatment for a while now and since been freed to the wild.
