the Esso station in the second picture on the top, is actually in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (or rather, just outside) and was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the Modernist architect who also designed the Seagram Building in NYC.

The station in the foto #8 is not American. It's Dutch, and it still stands in Nijmegen where it has been built in 1936 (not as a gas station though). See http://www.panoramio.com/photo/5160942 and http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzinestation_Auto_Palace (sorry, Dutch texts only).
