After all she was just eleven. As she grew older she would be able to escape - except that she got pregnant. She couldn't risk an escape during her pregnancy. Also, after her daughter's birth she would be able to try, but now she would be risking the baby's life. And then she got pregnant again. By the time her second daughter was old enough to risk an escape, she was completely used to her captive life.
