I was really surprised with the way of getting rid of old subway cars in New York.
Look inside the post.

They were simply thrown into the ocean near the state of Delaware.
There are already more than 700 cars at the bottom of the ocean.
The most interesting fact is that such an artificial reef, according to experts, has a good effect on the local fauna.
It is something like a luxury apartments for the fish where they are reproducing at an amazing pace.
On the other hand, once wildly.

Lots of fish around the artificial reefs. Here is what the geniuses did where I live and have to clean it up now: http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2007-02-17-florida-reef_x.htm

They do the same with retired navy boats. They fill the boats with enough explosives to sink them, just so the fish and other marine life have somewhere to grow. But don't fret, they remove all equipment and fluids that would damage the marine life before doing this. It's kind of like a good way to recycle but it's also kind of like polluting the ocean at the same time. Mixed feelings are associated with this. n_blush

safe? ... yeah right .. if all the pollutants and fluids are removed then why the paint is still on them .... and don't tell my it's eco paint because the paint used was made some decades ago and no one made eco paint in that time - acetone or oil based paint - SO NO IT'S NOT SAFE
