Its not an issue of compensating for a small willy, Jay has been a car enthusiast his entire life and if you ever take the time to read one of his articles in any of the auto magazines he writes for you'd realize that he is very passionate about cars. His involvement goes beyond collecting and goes deep into repair and restoration of his collection through much of his own work and working with others. Many pieces in his collection are extremely rare and some are one of a kinds including one that he designed himself while working with General Motors design staff.
So it's up to you to tell other people how much money they can have? Look how many people have benefited from Jay circulating millions of dollars into the economy. But tell us, what should be the limit you would impose on another's earnings, why you would stop at that amount, and how would that amount be anything other than arbitrary according to your subjective opinion? A nation that has wealthy people raises EVERYONE'S standard of living. The only alternative to free-market capitalism is socialism which has failed everywhere it's been tried. Socialism is parasitic - it depends on capitalism to survive, and when it finally bleeds capitalism dry then socialism has nothing left to feed on, and starves to death.
You seem to be the one that is more the know-it-all "communist" telling people what they can do or say, while vomiting the trite Fox news jargon because you do not have your own words. Surprised ya did not use the words, "job makers." We should have tons of jobs by now since less than 1% now own over 40% of this nations wealth. I'd say those that horde wealth fits the definition of being parasitic, when the vast majority of Americans, such as yourself, are oblivious to them sucking the USA dry of its infrastructure and jobs. Get your definitions straight, a parasite is something which is not recognized by host while making its host work for it, while meanwhile sucking away its resources. Sounds like ruling class to in a capitalist society to me.
Typical response from a Liberal that believes in wealth redistribution. Jay is a taxpayer. You hired Obama to do the redistribution. Jay made his money honestly and must maintain his right be able to spend it the way he wants to spend it. Please reexamine your thinking!
Learn your grammer before you prove your ignorance. " unless your changing the world" should be "unless you're changing the world". "Your" is the possessive of "you"; "you're" a contraction of "you'are". Our schools have failed us - modern education!
Quote #15 shows a lot of stupidity and ignorance. Probably isn't even aware of what an idiot looks like until they look into a mirror. Do we all agree?
Beautiful Collection of Cars and Motorcycles, Fuck all those cheap ass shots from the Jealous ones, but that's Hollywood for you I can see your very proud of your collection and you should be. Wish I could afford the Gas to come up there and your Toy's in person. Thank you for Displaying them so we all can see them. Ron Stevens A.K.A Tramp
Of course we are all envious, but is greed funny? He deserves mocking, because mocking is his trade. He is not funny, he is just a joke reader and tool of the liberal media establishment.
Hey all...truth is I've known Jay for over 20 years and he is a very funny guy. He is first and foremost a stand-up comedian...imagine he doesn't swear at all yet is still very funny. Remember this was long before the tonight show...actually he would fill in from time to time for Johnny Carson back then but nothing permanent.
I also agree with blogger 9 in that Jay is very passionate about these vehicles and the restoration/preservation process involved in them. Truth be known if I had his money I would be doing something very similar....in fact I do but just on a smaller scale.
So before you go dissing Jay just remember he didn't start with the tonight show and it has been a long road and an awful lot of hard work to get where he is now. Alot of the nay sayers here probably have no idea what hard work is unless you think the long wait at the government trough is work :)
These thoughts come to you from way up in western Canada....PEACE!!
I think Jay Leno should be commended for making his car and motorcycle collection displayed in such an oderly manner. I see people enjoying the collection and I would like to spend an afternoon ogling the collection. Kansas Hick
JAY YOU HAVE A WELL DIVERSIFIED,AND BAD ASS COLLECTION!i REALLY LIKE THE HOT RODS & THE BIKES.I ENJOY WATCHING YOUR SHOWS AS WELL AS YOUR TASTE IN OLD VINTAGE CARS AND BIKES.YOUR THE MAN ,STAY COOL,WISH I CAN SEE THEM IN PERSON,AWSOME LOOKING VEHICLES! YOUR A LUCKY FELLOW,ENJOY!!
I understand it is a way to build your investments and not be taxed on it but how much money does a person really need and you can't take it with you when you die so it would be nice to see some of these rich people help the poor and stop and like some of the others I to don't find him funny, he has some great guests on the show though. You will be judged by the Lord of your life here. Being gready is not a good quality.
What makes you assume he does not help the needy? By the way its spelled greedy. Being judgemental without the facts is not a good quality either. Nor is jealousy
This man works hard for a good living. He saves these antiques so others can enjoy instead of wasting the money on drugs or other stupid things. Thank you Jay for your dedication!!! Tom Reilly
I love cars and Jay has the cream. But if I had been as close to Jane Fonda as he has I would still have my foot up her exhaust pipe. She is a traitor to this country and hated by an entire generation of service men. May she soon rot in Hell!!
How much treasure have you laid up in heaven where it really counts? What a tragedy. We'll explore the universe one day with our great Creator God and who will care about cars and motorcycles then?
HI JAY IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME SIENCE I HAVE BEEN OUT TO SEE YOU AND YOUR MUSEUM, YOU HAVE ENLARGED IT BY A LOT SIENCE I WAS THERE LAST. I THINK YOU MAY KNOW THAT THY ARE MAKING A MOVIE OF MY DAD'S LIFE AND RACING DAY'S ON THE WEB. SITE www.kretzmovie.com there is a little imfo. about the movie hope to see you soon. Ed Kretz Jr
jimbob. I can only say it must take a couple of years just to ride and drive everything around the block once. I'll do it for you any years Love you Jay. from j. Mc kay.
I wrote a letter to Jay about how I solved a problem on my Vincent motorcycle (their clutch was 'different'). A couple of weeks later he called me to thank me for taking the time to write to him.
Hi Jay love your collection,I have a SPYDER Can Am ,it clocked on the odometer at 200,I have no where to try it but I did see 90 and it was not at redline I am 85 yrs Ted Sonner
Cograds Jay, great collection i see ya got a 08 Z06 I Feel better now just traded my 67 convertable for an 08 Z06 with 400 mile on it jetstream blue .Cant afford more that one nice one at a time had 63 split window for 15 years.Trying new fast ones now detailing bar codes under neath with my spare time .trying to get adjusted in retirement also take CARE Richard Milton DE.
I live in the San Fernando Valley and have seen Jay a number of times over the years. He has always been a gentleman, saying hello to strangers. He even stopped while touring some old bombers at Burbank airport, and thanked and shook my father-in-law's hand for his service during WWII. By the way, Jay also drives these cars. I have seen him in his Packard convertible and Hudson Hornet...
Jay, I cut my teeth on an 812 Supercharged Cord. It kept me as poor as a church mouse for 5 years when I finally needed $800 to enrole in CU Boulder. (leaving the USAF after the Korean war). I still find them beautiful. Some people just don't understand those of us who love mechanical artistry.
I saw Jay appear on Home Improvement along with many of his old cars. He was cast as a wealthy mans "mechanic", rather than the owner of the car collection, which I admired very much! I wish that I could afford a hobby like that.
It is such a shame to see sooo many little minds with sooo much time on their hands to be such pointless nit-pickers and to be sooo critical of a most notable and respectable achiever with the grace and good heart to share with all - - irrespective of one's inability appreciate and/or express it with even a modicum of decency. Sooo sad for them but at the same time so good they live in a nation and society that does not simply put them out of their misery but rather allows them to walk among us, leech and take rather than make, and OCCUPY shouting and acting out to the best of their limited ability how wrong "they're being done........." Thanks Mr. Jay Leno for your contributions to our society - achieved only by making and doing with interest, drive and good old fashioned "get up and go." Cheers to all who appreciate his interests, sharing and hard work, however imperfectly interpreted and/or nit-picked by the variously disadvantaged......mikel
Leon Caulley Jay, you have the greatest collection of coarse. I had three Hudson's, in the past and a 1964 DS 19 Citroen. I wish you would try to get a 1972 Citroen Pallas, sometime. Keep up the good work. [email protected]
To all you bozo out there , the reason we have the greatest entertainers on earth here in a America is because we have a country that rewards people for there hard work and talent . Jay is a excellent example how us Americans can come from middle class or poverty to being very successful and wealthy . I have you seen any good entertainment out of Russia , China , or Europe , Very little if any ! For you Bozo out there , before you put down Jay next time , try doing some stand up comedy yourself in front of live audience and see how long you last before you get booed off the stage . Try making a world class movie or computer game , then maybe you'll understand hard work and not be a bozo !!!
there are a few I would love to know what the heck they were...Great collection, I am very jealous. Too bad I didnt work my ass off as much as you to be able to afford them.
I love your collection of cars.you have restored them to new. so generations to come can see what peole did with their hands and minds. If you need an 89 year old to demostrate one for you.Call Jane, and I still ride my Mobecane motor bike too.Love it. Keep up the good work.
Last night (2/27/12) in his monologue, he joked about Mitt Romney saying that he had, "an SUV, a hybrid, and a couple of Cadillacs." Said Leno, "What a showoff! A couple of Cadillacs? How many cars does one person need?!"
Well, obviously, you do not have a good English background!!
You r does not equal you're meaning you are. Next, where did you ever come up with such a vile and sickening word? Jay Leno is the best, friendliest, courteous gentleman I have ever met. Always stops for a chat and a picture. What a super time giving guy. All the best to him in his collection and endeavors. He hs earned them all....
Mr. Leno - Are ;you autos someplace in the Los Angeles area. If so, is viewing them open to the public. The reason I ask is I am in an Army vesteran organization and we have been talking it would be nice if we had one of our meeting in a near by restaurant and then could view you collection. Bruce Monkman-<[email protected]>
BEEN WATCHING JAY LENO FOR MANY YEARS. GREAT COMEDIAN. DOES NOT USE FOUL LANGUAGE TO GET LAUGHS. DOES NOT HAVE TO WORK ,BUT DOES TO PRESERVE HIS GARAGE. WHY ARE THERE SO MANY ENVIOUS PEOPLE OUT THERE. GET A LIFE. GO JAY.
