6th pic up...the car with the huge steel 'fender' is actually what we call here in Australia a 'Bush Basher'. The two large spotlights on top are for when people go out 'spottying-ing' Means they go put those high-beam lights on and chase kangaroo, wild pigs, buffalo, whatever. The large antennae is part of their person to person radio. The 'fender' on front is commonly known as a Bull Bar...to help if you hit a bull or kangaroo to not damage your vehicle. This sort of vehicle is not normally seen in the kind of streets it was photographed, more in rural areas, so I suspect the person taking the photo had never seen one before. Mind you the 'ute' (utility vehicle as we call them, not 'pick-ups') is a very modern one...normally the bush bashers are in really bad condition and old!
