This old comic about Mickey Mouse and his friend Goofy is talking about them selling Peppo in Africa. Peppo is nothing less than a crank or speed, other words an amphetamine that you can only get in a pharmacy on prescription.
The thing is that during the 1950’s, when the comic was released, a number of stimulant and sedative drugs were widely used and were promoted in the mainstream media.
I doubt that nowadays this comic could see the light of day ;)
