These crazy vending machines are stocked with more than junk food and diet drinks.  They offer live hairy Shanghai crabs. The crabs are stored in the machine at 41F 5C which keeps them alive and immobile. The machine states that if you find a dead crab after your purchase they will give you 3 crabs for the mistake.

This craze is taking China by storm and even though statistics state that the live hairy Shanghai crab is becoming overfished in the Yangtze river, it isn’t’ stopping the wild vending machines from dispensing these hairy little guys to hundreds  of happy consumers daily.
