I sure as hell hope that you don't think that resolving conflicts is the same as normal sexual behaviour. Point is as I said before - what everyone chooses to do on their own time, be it cross-dress, BDSM, anal sex, toys, experiment with same sex is fine. As long as no one rubs it in my face. natural sexual behaviours do not (in most cases) override natural reproductive events i.e. sperm is needed for fertilisation of egg. that's what i meant by sexual behaviours dont have to be mutually exclusive. you seem to think that being gay totally removes one's ability to reproduce. fertilisation of the egg is all.

like the bonobos they still have their males and females despite their colourful sexual proclivities. I did not in any way imply that humans are better off with having males/females remove from the population and I have no idea where you get that from.

I agree with phil, xenomorph. Since homosexuality appears in many species, including humans, and it's not weeded out by natural selection, there must be some underlying reason why those "gay genes" still exists. Otherwise, homosexuality would have disappeared a long, long time ago. That also means, that since it happens in nature, there is nothing wrong with it. As an atheist, you surely must agree that if there isn't no higher being giving us moral codes, there is only one moral code that can be followed and it's nature.
Oh, and Annamolly, homosexuality is a question of biology in the end. Like every single "choice" we make.

I was one of the gay kids whose picture is included in that montage. The purpose of the blog was to illicit some understanding and perhaps a little empathy. I believe for the most part it achieved that goal. There will always be folks who just don't get it. Honestly, you don't have to. A little compassion and tolerance never hurt anyone in this world. There has never been a SINGLE human civilization where homosexuality didn't exist, something we know from the writing, myths, art, laws, and graffiti they left behind. It's simply a fact of life, part of the human condition, and it's not going to go away just to please YOU, so get over it! And statements like Xenomorph's have always confused me. "The everybody was gay then mankind would disappear!" First of all, no it wouldn't. Egg+sperm would still = baby. Second of all, apparently YOU think homosexuality is SO appealing that if there wasn't prejudice against it then EVERYBODY would turn gay! Does that make any sense? No, it doesn't. But it sure says a heck of a lot about YOU! Third, in an academic study they showed people photos of kids about the same age as the kids in these pictures and asked them to guess which ones turned out to be straight or gay. (The poses weren't as stereotypical as these are.) People were able to predict which kids turned out to be gay with a stunning amount of accuracy. Study after study has shown that sexuality is determined VERY early, probably in the womb, the same way left-handedness is determined before birth. So again, get over it.
