Could you survive on 49 cents a day? If you lived in China and earned 49 cents per day, you’d have no alternative but to stretch those cents as far as they could go. Photographer Stefen Chow started a project called “The Poverty Line – China” which shows what the Chinese living below the poverty line can afford with the daily wage. One picture - one day.

Ten years ago Army Private Mitch Hunter performed a heroic act with bitter sweet results. He saved a woman’s life during a car accident by pushing a live wire off the woman. Sadly, the ending wasn’t a happy one for him. Hunter was left severely disfigured and the formerly handsome young man now lives with a severely scarred face, a prosthetic nose and leg. Hunter’s story is about to be re-written and the brave soldier just might get his happy ending after all. He has received approval for a face transplant by the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Talk about turning an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan – Curtis Killorn is single handedly reviving dead trees in Colorado by painting them in bright beautiful colors. The result, as these beautiful pictures show, is magnificent. I absolutely love this original and very creative art work and thank the artist for generously sharing his pictures and link with me.
