This has a less chance of succeeding than people riding pogo sticks to work. Here's a few reasons off the top of my head... Guys in suits won't be wanting to peddle and get sweaty. Fat people? Yea, right. Would you want to sit/lay down in that bubble after someone just sweated/shit/pissed/came all over the inside? What about when it rains/hails/snows/sleets/etc.? What about those people (like myself) that like to bike in the nude? Would they be charged with indecent exposure?
"shweeb" is the correct spelling of this; it's on prototype in NZ, and you go about twice as fast as on a mountain bike due to less friction, air-resistance, etc.
the negatives mentioned earlier are all valid concerns; but are all overlooking a simple fact-- shweeb does not have to be the only transportation in a city. it can be complimentary.
after all, not everyone is able to use a certain transportation as it is, like driving a car, riding a motorcycle, bike, or rollerblades. i mean, you go with what works for you, and that doesn't break any of the other choices.
