Grandad showed me pictures of Japanese cities during the firebombing of WWII and these pictures are worse than those.

Yes, the whale thing, but the fact that there is no looting or chaos is impressive! I have a new found respect for them.

no, people- leroy is exactly right. the japanese fishermen are ruthlessly and famously brutal towards dolphins, whales, and pretty-much all other sea life that is useful to them in any way. there is absolutely zero compassion or humanity shown towards such animals, and the fact that animal-lovers find fault with japan only irritates or sometimes enrages the japanese, nothing more.

OTOH pretty-much every country (including the USA) has dirty hands and skeletons in the closet.

and i do find these photos to be sad, shocking and even terrifying. the pictures really drive the message home.
