I personally have some russian friends, and yes, everyone of them has a rug on the wall. :) I don't know why, the rugs are just like these one seen in the pics. Maybe it makes the room warmer or something? Must be an old tradition or something like that.
A few of them are actually pretty, but due to the angle/photo/makeup = not pretty.. some of these are borderline kiddy porn.. I question the age of some of the girls, a lot seem to be from Hungary or Russia
