Woman Overcomes Huge Adversity (23 pics)

Posted in Girls   13 Oct 2011   / 13822 views

This beautiful and really strong woman has proven that potential weakness can be turned into strength.

Aimee Mullins is the perfect example of a person who turned a so-called disability into an advantage. Born with no fibula bones in her legs doctors had to amputee both legs below the knee when she was one year old.

However, in college she ran Division I track against able bodied runners and participated in the 1996 Paralympics in Atlanta. Mullins has also done some modeling, has acted in several movies and worked at the Pentagon. She has 12 prosthetic legs and is quite the fun loving and cool person!

Seriously? WTF do people expect an amputee to do? Just lay down and die? Don't look at her because she's an amputee. Look at her because she is an athlete or model.

Even though she has no feet, I bet she owns dozens of pairs of shoes. She is a woman after all...
