An Unusual Bride (20 pics)

Girls would do anything to get married.

Kate Puncher, 31, is a former model from Glasgow. She perfectly knows what dieting is. Since she turned 18 years old, she started to develop an eating disorder. It was because her boyfriend said he would break up with Kate if she gained any extra pound.

The girl stopped eating. She ate nothing but mints. She was starving, throwing up after meals and taking laxatives. She reached her lowest weight of 4 stone in 1999. She was so weak she couldn’t hold a spoon in her hands. She spent much time in hospital, and, surely, her boyfriend broke up with her.

Kate was dying.

Her life changed in 2005. This was when she met Barry. The two fell in love and dated for two years when the firefighter proposed. However, he threatened to break up with her if she… didn’t put on 3 stone before the wedding.

To motivate his second half, Barry bought her a wedding dress two sizes too big and set a deadline.

Kate was eating three meals a day to gain weight. She managed to overcome her anorexia and in the summer of 2009 the couple got married in Cuba.

Isn’t it a fairy tale happy ending?

DamnHot - it's really hot there, Damn!

It IS a disease and yes, it's in your head. Certain parts of the brain controlling hunger and self -perception starts to work slower and deteriorate.

she voluntary choose to starve herself to death....she didn't caught anything......AIDS is a deasese, anorexia is more like a mental disorder to me since these poeple actually wanting what is hapening to them.....the fact that you are so fucked up in your head that you cannot accept what you see in a mirror shouldn't be called desease.....

Some awful responses here. Anorexia is a disease, it's a mental disease, just as much as depression is. Just because you are doing it to yourself and to outsiders it seems like you're just being an idiot and should just get over yourself and eat, doesn't mean it isn't just as bad as a physical disease. It's very hard to 'get over it', it doesn't happen overnight. And indeed grow up people. This isn't about her being good looking or not. She managed to overcome a horrible thing. And just comes to show how big a difference it can make to find the right person. Great that she got to have her happy ending.
