Ricky, the players make as much as they do because the fans pay their wages through ticket prices, merchandise sales, advertising revenue, etc. So basically if no one went to the games or watched them on TV, they wouldn't be able to afford these homes. Therefore the only difference between professional athletes and you seems to be that society doesn't think your job is interesting enough to be worth paying to watch you do it.
