In picture #7, I would love to know if the pit had a berm or curb to back up to. I drove almost the same Cat as in this picture when I was in college. Backing up to the curb was scary enough knowing there was a point of no return. Even scarier was dumping when the front end gets light as you empty your load.
in open cast mining there is never a kerb. It is down to the driver/operator to decide when he tips.All dump trucks, tipper trucks go light when the load is leaving the body, normal in everyway
