A huge lion was about to drink water at the waterhole when a black-backed jackal came nearby…

I think jackals just can guess whether a lion is hungry or if he's not by checking on his body language :) nature speaks by not telling anything

Animals are not stupid creatures like us they dont kill everything that move just because, maybe the lion think "seriously dude, are you sure of this".
