or if you don't feel like spending a lot of time scrubbing the chassis with a toothbrush, remove the screws and stick the two plastic halves in the upper rack of a dishwasher.

#5, sure hope that isn't a dryer.

I allways put my keyboard in the dishwasher. Let it dry for some days and it will work again.
It even worked with a Microsoft wireless keyboard. Didn't expect that :)

Why bother? New keyboards are under $10.00 (unless you have one of those idiotic 'designer' keyboards).

(These comments were awesome for this post.)

I tried to do this once as a similar way a while ago and my keys never typed the same, they stuck a lot and it became really annoying so I just had to get a new one...

Way too much work, you only have to screw off the top with the keys. All the electronics are on the bottom half, so you can easily wash all the keys+top in the same time (save time by not getting out the keys). Just use 10cm of water in the tub, use a lot of soap and degreaser, and hair dryer. Be sure you flush the soap well with water!!

You can use your keyboard in 30 mins.

Also another good idea, if the keys still stuck (like Logitech Wave after 2-3 years), and you are sure it is not because of some nasty glue/sticky stuff, buy some lithium-based grease/lubricant, like this:

Apply it thin (really really thin), if you use too much, just use a paper towel, and clean off.

Cheap way to make it quieter and better to use. (test in progress, but no problem at all with the keyboard after 2 years)
