That wouldn't work these days because the thief would get a lawyer and sue you for the damage inflicted on his hand, the emotional trauma of the ordeal, and the damage to his reputation when he was seen in public with that boobytrapped case..
Plus, with all those gizmos in that case, what else could it actually carry, a breath mint?
