Nice. The "after" photos would have been better in colour.

Well to be precise it was 1.3 trillion € (1.9 trillion $) from the western part of Germany that paid for that.

No, it wasn't paid by western part of germany, this is 1.3 trillion Euro in new debts. Those have to be paid by all Germans.

Agreed! In California this process is in reverse thanks to senile Governor Jerry Brown the uber-left state legislature.

There is a certain white house in the US that is in need of renovation, and of new tenants!

Yeah, I hear that a site for Empire State Building 2,000 years ago was just a forest with a cave.
Amazing what capitalism is capable of.

About picture #9. Was it really possible to have graffiti in communist territory? That strikes me as odd.

1992 was several years after the fall of the wall and communism.

As long as it is in the style of Socialist Realism.

#33 to #34 actually looks like it's worse. And, yeah, I agree with comment #11, this is a bit of an oversimplification. Not saying Communism was a good thing, but I could have done a before and after of what Capitalism has done to Detroit. To me Capitalism is not a virtue. Freedom of choice is, which is why I'm against Communism.

Capitalism is freedom of economic choice. It does not mean everyone succeeds, it just means you make choices on how to allocate your wealth, or energy, instead of the government.

Disabled Veteran Owned Business, also a 501c nonprofit caroorotipn recently located in San Diego looking for office space it can negotiate for price and terms for. PCs4Vets is also an Authorized Microsoft Refurbisher that uses their license to take in used computers, refurbish, and donates them to veterans and veteran family members.Another program being developed to work with the computers is an OJT project that will train veterans and or a veteran family member how to become a licensed refurbisher themselves, and how to start their own business using what they learn with PCs4Vets refurbishing program. We have veterans waiting for computers, corporate sponsorship that will donate computers, but need a place to start from. We need maybe 1,200 to 1,500 sq ft for about 6 to 8 months and would then be able to pay a reasonable rent to whomever is willing to back a good cause without having to see a huge profit. They wouldn't have to lose money either. Because PCs4Vets is a 501c nonprofit an owner with unoccupied space could lease to us for an amount of months and write off whatever the normal rent typically is on their taxes. Better than losing money while a property sits and you will be helping a large number of veterans and families of veterans to gain education in Internet and computer skills which have become the necessary tool in this era for connecting to almost anything. Without this basic knowledge and a computer their opportunities in life are dramatically lessened. They have done a lot for us and can use a hand up now. Please call with any questions or comments. 800-871-4880
