Wow, 500 dogs to be set loose in the streets to suffer and starve. I mean, I'm an animal lover too, but did anyone adopt them out? Most will probably end up right back where they were.

indeed true. and its pretty hypocritical when "we" transport cows, pigs and chicken in the same way.. and way way way more then 500 of them.

Agree. It's an ignorant thing to do. All that will happen is they will either starve and die, or who ever catches them for what ever usage they were intended for will make double the cash off of catching them again.

My faith is not restored by such ignorance.

So where the dogs set free and given to people that would take care of them, or just set free to roam the streets starving and becoming a problem?

Actually they raised the money to feed and house them till they could be adopted. they biggest problem with this was alot of them were stolen from homes, they were pets.

Once we start doing the same for people in our own repective countries, my faith in humanity will be restored.
As gandhi said a society can be judged by the way they treat their animals ... i believe it is in the way they treat one another.
In addition to that, we are technically at the top of the food chain , we destroy other species to eat them , it's what we are.

maybe ghandi implied that care for human life will be always more important than of animal lives. but its starting to go wrong and animals start to be more important to us than suffering people.

but yes this is a nice story to save the animals from death

They set them free then rounded them up and ate them. That's why you never go to a Chinese run McDonalds.

Well, chickens get same kind of treatment, but no-one is going to save them. Dog eaters are monsters and pork eaters are normal humans. Every single animal has it's own personality, but only those, which we take as pets have any "rights". That said, I'm happy that those dogs survived. I like dogs. Also, I would eat dog meat if I had the chance.
