Why not just ride your bike down the freeway? Oh yeah.. It's as illegal as this.
I'd like to see a person try to jump off their bike and pull that thing off when crossing a bridge or when they're right next to water. Which is quite often.

Not a new idea, I seen a photo dating to the early 1900s of Russian railway guards using a similar bike.
