It's the "I can be more daring" syndrome. Far as the mad upskirt avoidance skills, back then it took more than a split second to take a picture, giving ample preparedness time.

I think we should all observe a moment of silence for those poor men who taught in our nation's schools in the early seventies. These men, young and old, had to stand before hundreds, of young women wearing obscenely short skirts pointed at them day after day.
I'm sure many just splashed themselves with cold water between periods, others I assume were driven to drink.
