Has anyone else ever noticed that all the pictures that show the inside of Russian houses, the decor always looks like an American home from the 60s or 70s. I mean, I look at these pictures, and they remind me of pictures my mother has of her home when she was young - with the obvious exception of some modern devices, like a modern TV or whatever. But the furniture, wallpaper, etc, all looks like it came out of an American home in the 60s.
That's because most of them still live with their parents who haven't renovated since the 80s. A time in which the ex-Soviet space was undergoing an Americanization of sorts, a capitalistic alteration, if you will.
