Nomura - A giant ocean jellyfish over two meters in diameter and weighing up to 300 pounds, has again attacked the coast of Japan. Such invasions of invertebrates have before deeply damaged the fishing industry of the country. The jellyfish not only damage the fishing networks, they also ruin the fish themselves by striking them with their poisonous tentacles and making the fish inedible. Many cooperatives have suspended commercial fishing.
