When a French soldier on a military operation in Mali posed for this photograph wearing a “Call of Duty” skull mask, the resultant effect was a mass outcry from the public claiming that the FMIS were conveying the message that the soldier’s role was to “bring death”. However, the photographer behind the image states that the photo was just meant as a bit of fun for the soldiers who are working in difficult situations and not meant to cause any harm.
