Dreadfully sad.

Why on earth do people live in such places that are called, "Tornado Alley"? I'd want to live as far away from something like this as I could.

This is sad. There is one thing that has been confusing me for years. Every year there is a tornado season in tornado alley, but the buildings there don't seem to be made for such conditions. There are safe rooms in private homes, but why are the public buildings so weak? Important buildings like schools and hospitals should be built with poured concrete in both roof and walls, more like a bunker. Windows should have motorized cover hatches that can be rapidly closed with the push of a button. The buildings should be so safe, that they can be used as shelters for other people, outside ordinary opening hours when there is a risk for tornadoes. I hope clever engineers will rise to the challenge and politicians should come up with proper funding.
