Yep, and all these ultra liberal 'free love' and 'free thought' wild hippies who chanted 'never trust anyone over 30!!!' are now the corporate leaders and politicians (that are the most corrupt ever) and have run this country into the ground.

i somehow doubt that 'all' of those types went on to become the modern monied elite, and even if they did, at least they gave something interesting a chance... even if it didn't exactly work in the end.

no, i think civilisation ran itself in to the ground. we all want to blame some opposing group(s) out there, but we're been living a lifestyle that's unsustainable and now it's really catching up to us. politicians were never going to save ourselves from our own actions, so it's pointless to even go there IMO.

Want to know the real scoop abut what happened after "The Summer Of Love" in 1967? Read David Talbot's "Season of the Witch." A well done chronicle of what happened in our beautiful San Francisco from the mid-60s to the early 90s, warts and all.
