Norwegian Truck Driver Builds a Hyper-Realistic Boeing 737 Cockpit (12 pics)

32-year-old Kjetil Mathisen, from Norway loves flying machines so much that he has taken his passion to new heights.

About two years ago, Kejtil and his friend Stian Alexander Hoddevik decided to build their own replica Boeing 737 cockpit from scratch. The cockpit is nearly identical to the original and it is even connected to Microsoft flight simulator software that allows them to engage in virtual flights. Nice job!

Is that frame all wood? I love to be able to bend wood like that.

Hyper-realistic just doesn't do it for me. I need super-ultra-special realistic.

interesting, the way he has the viewing screen projected on to the wall, there. altho really, might be even better to span it across the cockpit windows themselves with LCD panels.

i wonder how many of those switches and controls work? hopefully he has a good sound system to make the cockpit vibrate. would also be pretty interesting if he could rig up some relatively cheap hydraulics to make the whole thing pitch and yaw.
