They aren't just art, the 3d printed ones can be 80% lighter than molded ones, making them much easier (but not as good as a real leg) for the user. Also, with 3d printed prosthesis, they can take an imprint of their other limb and print it mirrored so that it matches. Technology is nearly magic.
