Socialism paid for it. Some people who worked hard for their pay had part of it taken in taxes so you could enjoy your hip replacement you moron!

I dunno, I think I'd rather live somewhere where I have a whole country who has my back (and I have theirs) than somewhere where everyone is willing to step all over me to get themselves ahead.

P.S. Rikki, just because the operation costs less in Spain, doesn't mean that the whole thing is paid by socialism. It just means that it costs less, likely due in a big part to more regulated and down to earth costs because a there isn't a whole whack of people trying to line their pockets on someone else's misfortune.

Perhaps there's a mandated price by the government on costs. Then too, quality of the replacement and other factors. The US has mandatory health requirements that I bet Spain does not. Taking a chance of infections, etc.

Cash in when ever you can...I have family in Canada ( well duh I'm Bill Murray see my Pic?) and even though they have socialized Dental it takes months to a year to get some types of work done....so they load up the Truck and Trailer and take a journey to Mexico and get better stuff for less.
