well before #4 and #5, the big rip will possibly occur.

this is due to dark energy and the fact that the universe is expanding faster and faster. eventually the four elemental forces will no longer be able to exert influence over matter / energy, according to the theory.

Modern science:
-Can't accurately predict what the weather will be like in 3 days.
-Knows what the universe will be like aeons from now.

The human race will eradicate itself, and irreversibly contaminate the planet, killing everything else, LONG before any astronomical phenomena pose a danger. The only other possibility is a global-killing meteorite, which may pre-empt this.

not so much that science considers itself infallible, but that people consistently misunderstand and misapply the proper concept of theory, i.e. more than just an untested idea, less than something without a margin of error.

but yea... humanity and the planet as we now know it is very likely toast. still, life goes on until the bitter end... imagination goes on until the final crash.

In four billion years our Milky Way will collide with the Andromeda galaxy but, owing to the huge spaces between stars, it is unlikely many collisions will occur. In fact, it's possible that only six out of a total of a trillion stars will hit each other
