#8 The crater called "Nördlinger Ries" is about 15 miles in diameter. The city in the picture may be the city of Nördlingen, it is round because it has been encircled with a city wall in the middle ages. Since a circle contains the most space with the smallest circumference (as in city wall), those towns usually have a circular appearance.
