i doubt they really expected it to taste much different. wine must be stored at controlled conditions to remain potable.

When sommeliers poured the wine it came out of the bottle as a light grey liquid, which they described as smelling like a mix of turpentine oil and sulphur, with a taste of gasoline, raw crabs and light citrus notes. However, when you are a collector of fine wine you do take gambles like this one and unfortunately you don’t always win the lottery and might end up with a bottle that tastes disgusting.
