It's the same for the back of the truck. If you catch up with a truck and you drive too close, the driver may not know you are there. As a basic rule, if you can't see the side mirror, the trucker cant's see you. Some trucks have cameras at the back, but they don't always see far behind the truck because they are meant for aiding when reversing into warehouse doors.

Pulling out in front of a truck seems harmless enough until you look at the truck driver’s perspective and then you will be totally freaked out!
