I ain't no fan of the Russian government (or any government for that matter) but... IMESHO, they do have a very unique culture that welcomes strangers with open arms.

@ArxFerrum, I bet they still require the proper paperwork. Too many people, and I'm betting you, confuse immigration with free, open, unfettered, no questions asked border crossings. Your socialist dream doesn't mean everyone will be better off, it means that everyone will share equally in the misery that the socialists are unwittingly wishing for.

nohelpneeded - Let me try this again...

1. I was talking about the people/culture, not the government. Russians... as in civilian human beings; not police, or politicians.
2. I have no dreams socialist, fascist or otherwise. I have a family, a faith and a business. That's enough for me.

If I may... perhaps you should not judge complete strangers based on less than three lines of wording?

Thanks for the reply... have a nice day :)

#1 is just a joke - an imitation of a special cake named "kulich" that Russian Orthodox church members bake for Easter, it is covered with kind of a frosting and sprinkles.
#8 is just a regular celebration of the Trooper's Day, it happens EVERY YEAR!
#32 is another religious holiday, Epiphany, celebrated on January 19th, when dipping into an ice-hole is traditional. Not everybody does it, but quite a few people do
