In Russia’s Siberia temperatures have hit a -62 degrees C (-79,6ºF) mark over the past week. For local people it was just a makeup – women had their eyelashes coated with ice and men got their Santa beards. Even horses and reindeer had to be taken inside to prevent them from freezing. There is one thing that has risen this week in the region though – the taxi fares which tripled, because a lot of cars simply do not start due to the freeze. But the Trans-Siberian railway doesn’t stop, having no delays on their route from Moscow to Vladivostok, 5772 miles long.
