Just like the people who freed "Willy" Keiko the killer whale. The poor guy did not know how to hunt and catch wild fish, but was kicked into the ocean to be free. He followed a school of herring to the coast of Norway, where he found human company in a fjord. Weakened by hunger he contracted pneumonia and died. It's like kicking your dog out of the house and into the streets.
The group sent Larry anyway in a new container, this time it wasn't leaking but it had only three gel packs. Larry arrived dead to the aquarium because he needed to have many gel packs in order to survive the trip. They clearly forgot that lobsters need fresh seaweed to keep them moist, and frozen ice gels to keep them cold. But at least Larry wasn't in a restaurant so he was "saved", right?
