In November 2013, an anonymous Russian placed an offer to send cremated remains into Earth orbit to the International Space Station saying his close relative at the Baikonur Cosmodrome would pack the urn with personal belongings of one of the Russian cosmonauts and send it within the Progress spacecraft to the ISS. Next, through a waste gateway, the urn would be released into space to Earth’s orbit.
