Reaching up to 20 cm (7.9 in) in length, the Emperor Scorpion is one of the largest scorpions in the world. Despite its size and menacing appearance, this species is not lethal to humans, which is also why it is a very popular pet among scorpion enthusiasts. Found in rainforests and savannas in West Africa, this scorpion lives for up to 8 years.
