Reaching widths of up to 7 m (23 ft), the Giant Manta is the largest ray and one of the largest fishes in the world. Similarly to other large fishes (such as the whale shark and the basking shark) and whales, the Giant Manta also feed on plankton. Found in tropical and subtropical waters worldwide, this stunning creature is now threatened due to overfishing.
