The Dutch freighter SS Ourang Medan received a number of odd distress calls in the winter of 1948 near Indonesia. One message said: “All officers including captain are dead lying in chartroom and bridge. Possibly whole crew dead.” The message was then followed by an attempt at Morse-code that couldn’t be deciphered, and ended with “I die.” When the ship was found and inspected, perfectly preserved bodies of men staring at the sun with their arms outstretched and distorted looks on their faces were found. Fuuuuuck thaaaat.
