This photo is taken from a Nirvana photo shoot about five months before Cobain died. It was the last formal photo shoot Nirvana ever did before the songwriter took his own life at the age of 27. Cobain was found with a high concentration of heroin and traces of diazepam in his body, and had a troubled history of addiction and depression. He  died on April 5, 1994, having shot himself at his home in Seattle
