Haiku Stairs

These stairs are so scary that it’s been banned to climb them. These 3,922 rickety stairs that go up to Oahu’s Koolau Mountain Range are so dangerous, that they’ve posted guards to prevent you from trying.

Built in 1942 by the US Navy to install communications wires, they were nicknamed the Highway to Heaven and were popular with hikers until 1987.
