Using the Hubble Space Telescope, NASA discovered the strange act of galactic cannibalism by our own galaxy, The Milky Way. They studied 13 stars on The Milky Way’s outer halo to get a better understanding of how the Milky Way formed. Over the years, they believe, The Milky Way grew larger by basically eating smaller galaxies.
