The Edwardian drunks in these photos are shamefaced, bewildered, and angry as they stare into the lens of the police camera while getting their mugshots taken. Their offences include being caught while in charge of a steam engine, carriage and a horse while being drunk. As it turns out they were in violation of the Licensing Act of 1902. The act gave police the power to apprehend those found drunk in any public place.

As can be seen from these photos, some floods are worse than others. It doesn’t matter where you live the effects of a flood are devastating and long lasting. As beautiful as Mother Nature can be, she can also be vicious at times.

Hussaini Hanging Bridge is situated in Pakistan over Borit Lake. It is known all over the world as the most dangerous rope bridge. It’s very narrow and old. Besides this the bridge is very high and it misses many wooden planks. Local citizens still use it because it’s the only way for them to travel to big Pakistan cities.

A Mustang owner in Florida brought his car for a warranty repair. But when an employee went to take back the car, he pushed a button on the remote to unlock it and to his surprise the car started, drove out from the dealership’s court and eventually got into the pond nearby. As it was found out later, the car had an aftermarket remote start system installed by the owner which was in discordance to factory safety system. As the vehicle was left in gear, after the button on the remote was pushed, it started the car and the car started to drive…

This Mexico’s island is called La Isla de las Munecas in Spanish. Its story is rather curious. People say that a girl drowned here, and since then the island was known as a haunted spot. Outsider Julian Santana decided to live here to honor the child spirit with dolls. Santana dies in 2001, however, thousands of discarded dolls he brought to the island as an offering are still there.

Children from a distant village in Colombia ride to school using a zipline that is 1,312 ft (400 m) long! They move pretty quickly reaching the top speed of 38 mi/h (62 km/h). By the way, kids manage to carry their younger brothers and sisters in hemp sacks. I just can’t understand how they go back home…

Such simple landscapes, but they look so incredible on these photos made by British photographer Tim Simmons! I haven’t seen anything like this. Everything looks so beautiful, impressive and magnificent. Though all the pictures are taken at night, the colors are bright and rich.
