Eugene Ely takes his Curtiss pusher airplane off from the deck of USS Birmingham on 14 November 1910. It was the First airplane takeoff from a warship. He flew for two miles before landing on a Willoughby Spit beach. It was a big success and so they decided to continue experiment. But this time, a plane had to land on a ship. It happens on 18 January 1911, Eugene Ely lands with the same plane on USS Pennsylvania, making this first landing on a warship in history and a great historical event.
I thought nothing could surprise me on the web. But then, I came across a scene of a fetish movie or something... The scene lasts 17 minutes if the timer is right. It is official, the world has become completely mad.
Big remarkable selection where the frames are used to emphasize the 3D effect of the image and to give off the illusion of action occurring outside of the borders. After the jump, you’ll see all 68 pictures done in very creative manner )
Here is a collection of pictures that their author took while he was on crutches in a NY subway. All these people are sitting in the disability seats and don’t move even if the guy (author) needed it more than they did. Well, it’s not for me to judge, sometimes I do it myself, but always get up if I see a person in need, whether it is an elderly person or a person with disability.
It's not a secret that the roads in Russia are terrible. But this is too much... In one district of Moscow, 4 cars went under the ground: one truck and 3 cars. I wouldn’t risk travelling in Russia by car.
A high school baseball coach loaned both of his Ferraris to 4 of his players, without any supervision. Well, they managed to wreck 2 cars in a mall parking lot!! But the best part is when the coach arrived at the scene, he lit up his cigarette and said calmly "It's gonna take a lot of homeruns to cover this one up". No, the best part is actually, that he will continue to give them the cars once they are repaired. You might think of one very important question: where did a high school coach get money for two Ferraris. Well, who knows…
Here are the most disgusting workspaces I’ve ever seen! I don’t know how people can actually work there! This was a photo contest on Gizmodo about disastrous” workplaces. And I might say – they totally correspond!
Of course off-road vehicles and, especially Hummers, are solid. They are so massive and heavy. But sometimes it’s not enough even for them. They can crash too ;) I made a selection of pictures with Hummers after accidents. What do you think?
Ron Mueck is an Australian hyperrealist sculptor working in Great Britain. Mueck's sculptures faithfully reproduce the minute detail of the human body, but play with scale to produce disconcertingly jarring visual images. Great works. Just need to see it!
Thousands of anti-capitalists, anarchists, and environmental campaigners organized a protest the day before the G-20 summit in London. Unfortunately, the police confrontation with protesters led to clashes and mass riots.
Zoo Lujan in Argentina is the only zoo that allows visitors to approach the most dangerous predators in the world. There are lions, tigers, cheetahs, bears and others. Cages are accessible to everyone who paid $ 50 and signed the paper saying that if you are eaten, the Zoo is not responsible. There are a lot of volunteers to walk in the cages.
Everybody likes small ponies. But some like them so much that they invent clothing for them and do their hair for them to resemble famous cinema characters. For example, this one you will definitely recognize. For my part, I recognized the majority. However, there are ten that I wasn’t able to say what character they represent. Well, try to recognize them all and then put your results in comments ;) Good luck!
I knew that there are people who like this music, but I did not know that there are people who learn to scream in order to “sing” the songs of black metal. I just thought they shout because they don’t hear themselves ;)
